Benefits of the cruising area
The Moselle / Saar / Lahn cruising area offers major nautical advantages:
1. Thanks to the river regulation works on the Moselle, Saar and Lahn, there is no low water even in dry summers
2. The Moselle and Saar are federal waterways, which is why the locks are continuously maintained by the waterways and shipping authorities and are practically in operation around the clock.
By the way, there’s no need to be afraid of going through the locks!
The large Moselle locks are very quiet.
During the briefing, you will receive valuable tips for passing through the locks without difficulty.
Our "Silas" lies so steadily in the water that it is taken through the lock using just one line attached to the centre cleat!
